Through quality education our students will achieve personal success www.TellurideSchool.org
The Telluride School District will support all students in striving for their highest potential through quality academics while addressing individual needs within a safe and healthy community.
Dear TSD Community,
I hope that this wonderful Spring weather finds you well and enjoying the last days of school. We are in the midst of graduation week, with amazing events like our Senior Awards luncheon, the Senior Parade, and of course, tomorrow’s graduation. Our TIS and TES students had fun Field Days on May 24 and 28, respectively. Our TMS and THS students are working through final exams. This is always an enjoyable time of the year, but I always find myself wistfully nostalgic.
One way that I can share our accomplishments with you is through the Monitoring Reports of our Ends Policies that I have presented to the Board of Education over the past three months. These reports are the main way that I provide evidence to the BOE that we are accomplishing our Ends stated above: supporting all students in striving for their highest potential through quality academics while addressing individual needs within a safe and healthy community. The reports contain data on achievement, as well as descriptions of actions taken, to achieve our Ends.
Monitoring Report E-2: Quality Academics – This report addresses our efforts at vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum as well as HR practices that result in retaining and recruiting excellent staff, and includes data from our School Climate Assessment Instrument and Employee Satisfaction surveys.
Monitoring Report E-3: Addressing Individual Needs – This report addresses our efforts at further developing our Multi-Tiered System of Supports and our Dual Immersion Program.
Monitoring Report E-4: Safe and Healthy Community– This report addresses our efforts at further developing fair and equitable behavior expectations and responses as well as a consistent student and staff culture across buildings.
This is not a summer reading assignment, but I do want to make sure you are aware of these reports as they highlight the hard work of our staff, and the accomplishments of our students. They do the work, and I have the pleasure of sharing what we do.
If you have not heard or seen them, two recent events also capture the spirit of the end of the year:
Also, our rooftop solar microgrid is now fully operational and puts us as the first school district in Colorado that provides for 100% of our electrical needs through solar renewable energy. Our rooftop microgrid has a 373kW capacity and is paired with a 250kW/550kWh battery storage system and two-dual port pedestal EV chargers.
Our solar microgrid is one example of how we are using our bond funds from the recently passed bond to keep our facilities state of the art. We greatly appreciate the community’s support for facilities and employee housing projects. You will notice that between facilities rentals and renovations our campuses will be very busy over the next few months.
I wish you all a safe, exciting, and relaxing summer and thank you all for your support of our schools. I am deeply honored to serve this community.
Sincerely,
John Pandolfo
