Graduation Week Details

Posted Date: 5/28/24 (7:32 AM)

Seniors & Senior Parents:

Here we are! Graduation week! I want to thank our incredible graduation committee for planning and pulling off all the events of the week!

A couple notes:

  • Senior Lunch:
    • Seniors should be at the Palm by 1:00 for the lunch.
    • Parents and family members are invited to join around 1:30 for the award presentations.
    • Students will sit on the stage, family can sit in the audience.
    • Dress can be whatever you or your senior is comfortable with, historically people have dressed on the nicer side.
  • Parade:
    • Students should be in the back parking lot no later than 3:30.
    • Students can transport on anything with wheels – bikes, skateboards, cars, trailers, etc (one year we did have  roller skates, it was challenging to keep up)
    • We will be led by a fire truck and travel down Main St – turn around at town park and come back. We will stop in front of the Sheridan for a class picture.
    • Students should wear caps & gowns. I would recommend saving the tassel for graduation day as sometimes it falls off.
  • Speech Rehearsal:
    • Everyone must practice their speech to Ms. Jenni and Rex.
    • Student should line up outside the side Palm door between 11:30 – 1:30 (if you have an exam, please do not leave your exam early as there will be plenty of time).
    • Speeches should be no more than 60 seconds and include your introduction. (They can be shorter, please not longer). We encourage creativity.
  • Graduation Rehearsal:
    • Will begin at 1:30.
    • Caps and gowns not needed.
    • Mandatory!
    • It should be about an hour, maybe longer, maybe shorter!
  • FAQ:
    • We will be sending out a link to graduation by Thursday morning and have it posted on the website.
    • We will be sending out queue order for entry by Thursday morning.
    • We will be sending out where your graduate is sitting by Thursday morning.
    • If students have exams, all events have been scheduled in order for students not to miss or leave their exam early.
    • If you have a relative in a wheelchair please let us know.
    • Any other questions please ask Traci or myself.

We are extremely excited to celebrate with you all!

Thanks,
Sara
