TMHS Weekly Email 9/4/2026

As we remember 9/11, we remember all who were lost. Today, we started the day with a moment of silence to honor and remember that day.

Stella Coe: is prepared and is delightful to have in class every day.

Calli, Eleanor, Maddox, Miles, Gage: Amazing HLE presentations this week!

Rene Ordonez: He has been putting so much effort in my forensic class and his participation has been valuable and worthy to acknowledge.

Alex Flores: Alex was absent from school and emailed his teachers the morning of to notify that he was gone. 

Van Carter: For his most excellent acting and accents in English. 

Elijah Prince : His excitement and interest in Photography!

Wylder James: Wylder is starting the year strong with being prepared, paying attention and working hard in his classes.

Cora Krasic; This student is consistently put together and helps other who are absent catch up on their work.

Avery Lyons: Avery has been an incredible student in class. She regularly contributes, works well with others, and developing into an effective student leader. 

Evan Stogner: The way he's helping younger theater tech students is inspiring

Hazel Frerichs: Hazel has been a great addition to climbing class. She has acted as an additional resource for her peers as well as teaching lesson in the class. 

Logan Hulst has shown himself to be the go to tech guy. He was so helpful in getting his fellow students logged into their computers and showed lots of kids how to navigate their new computers. Thanks!

Jackson Ward: Always enthusiastic in class, participates well, and a true class leader. Jackson is fun and kind and self-deprecating. His sweet energy is welcome in every class. 

Angel Ordonez: He is always on task and excited about learning math-enjoys 7th period and it is contagious.

Andres Gregorio: He is a dedicated students that works after school every day and is at school on time and works hard every day.

Riley Twitty: Riley is quick to volunteer to help out and she's been very focused and value-added during class discussions as we've kicked off our year. Well done, Riley.

Sophie Du Toit: Sophie is just an overall great person and student.

Elsa Speck: Shout out to Elsa Speck for working hard in class and having a great attitude!

Boris Marchev: Boris did not back down when being challenged during a difficult hike in Fall PE. I also had one of the best authentic conversations with him when he talked about his views on life, travel, and living his dreams.

Please be respectful of the Crossing Guard on West Colorado Avenue when he is directing traffic and pedestrian crossing before and after school.  Adults crossing on foot, bikes and e-bikes should also follow his direction.  This is to maintain the safety of our students, and everyone involved. 

 Please talk to your students about manners while crossing the street especially at break and lunch time when there is not a cross walk duty person. We have concerns from our community voiced often  that the students are not respectful and aware while crossing the street. Thank you.

Telluride Choral Society is welcoming students in grades 8-12 to join the adult chorale this season. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 4:30 to 6pm beginning September 13. Performances are October 6 and December 11 & 13. Come join other teens and adults who love to sing! Learn to read music, harmonize, and sharpen your performance skills for theatre and other  musical contexts. To register visit telluridechoralsiciety.org

Youth will get a hands-on introduction to beat making and DJing using MPK MIDI controllers and professional RANE turntables. Participants will learn how to program sounds, create loops, and build an original beat from scratch while exploring the fundamentals of music production. They’ll then step behind the turntables to learn how to mix songs, create smooth transitions between tracks, and practice the basics of scratching and turntablism. Later that evening, participants will have the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned during a community concert with La Familia Music Group, giving them a chance to take their new skills from the workshop to the stage. No previous music or DJ experience is required. This workshop is designed to give youth the opportunity to create, experiment, build confidence, and experience music from both the producer and DJ perspective.

In partnership with your child's school, Tri-County Health Network (TCHNetwork) is pleased to offer Skippy, a school based dental program providing comprehensive oral healthcare to your child at no out of pocket cost to you. Through Skippy we bring dental care to your children so they can spend more time in the classroom and less time traveling to a dentist!

The Skippy dental team provides the following preventive care:

• Dental Exam

• X-Rays

• Fluoride treatment

• Protective Sealants

• Cleaning

• Education to your children about how to brush and floss.

• Free toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss

• If needed, primary restorative care: in the form of Interim Temporary Restorations (ITR) and Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

This convenient dental visit takes about 30-45 minutes and gets your child back in the classroom quickly.

We will be at Telluride Elementary School on September 29/30th-October 2nd (AND October 5-6th if needed) . (We will be at the Middle and High School on September 21st-25th and if needed the 28th.)

If you would like to sign your child up, please fill out the consent form by going to https://tchnetwork.org/skippy-consent/ or you may pick up paper form at your child’s school. This consent is valid for the entire school year, both fall and spring semesters, unless revoked by a parent or guardian. Skippy is offered at no out-of-pocket costs to ALL families. Please fill out the form in its entirety, including the Insurance information. If you have dental insurance, we will bill for services just like other dental offices, but you will not be responsible for co-pay. This helps us to continue the program for all students.
