TMHS Weekly Email 8/21/26

Week on is DONE!!

funny

We made it thru the first week!

I don't know about you guys but WHEW... it's been a really busy week and remembering how to do all this school stuff can be challenging. We are so thrilled to have your amazing students here and we are ready for a spectacular year.
I know there have been hiccups but hopefully we have gotten things straightened out and next week will be easier for all. If you still need help please reach out to us or email helpdesk@telluride.k12.co.us
I hope that you all have a wonderful and safe weekend

THS Homecoming-Save the Date-Oct. 24

TMHS Community

We have had a great first week! Thank you for having such great kids; the respect is high and we are grateful top have kids in the building learning and engaging every day.

I have visited every grade level and reviewed expectations (which are pictured below), one to one, answered questions, and gave information about safe2tell. Safe2tell is a resource where anyone can make an anonymous report about something or something they are concerned about. The link to report is www.safe2tell.org

We were able to distribute computers to everyone, wow, that was a feat! The computers are an upgrade from anything we have used in the past. We are ensuring all students can log in to their computer, google, and schoology. We have had some hiccups but they can be resolved. All students will have a school email address where they can receive email. Juniors and seniors will have access to their personal email; we are working through that access, giving seniors access first and then juniors.

All students have been able to get into Alma, our counselors have been working through some schedule changes. We do have classes that are full and have waiting lists. Friday, August 28th, is the last day to drop/change a class without a penalty. After that date, the grade will go on the transcript as a withdraw fail.

Senior Spoils SIgn up

Here is the link for Senior Spoils. I have had several parents request we sed this out again. Here it is:

Skippy Dental Information

Hello families,

In partnership with your child's school, THRIVE Community Health network –(formerly Tri-County Health Network) - is pleased to offer Skippy, a school based dental program providing comprehensive oral healthcare to your child at no out of pocket cost to you. Through Skippy we bring dental care to your children so they can spend more time in the classroom and less time traveling to a dentist!

The Skippy dental team provides the following preventive care:
•        Dental Exam
•        X-Rays
•        Fluoride treatment
•        Protective Sealants
•        Cleaning
•        Education to your children about how to brush and floss
•        Free toothbrush, toothpaste and floss
•        If needed, primary restorative care: in the form of Interim Temporary Restorations (ITR) and Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)

This convenient dental visit takes about 30-45 minutes and gets your child back in the classroom quickly.

The Telluride School District clinic will begin on September 21, 2026. The clinic will operate throughout the week (until we have seen all enrolled students). We will begin the elementary school clinic on September 29/30th.
If you would like to sign your child up, please fill out the consent form at Skippy Consent/Enrollment Form – Thrive Community Health Network This consent is valid for the entire school year, both fall and spring semesters, unless revoked by a parent or guardian. Remember, if you sign up for the fall you are automatically enrolled for the spring semester. For questions, please email dental-coord@tchnetwork.org.

Skippy is offered at no out-of-pocket costs to all families. If you have dental insurance, we will bill for services just like other dental offices, but you will never be asked for a co-pay. THRIVE Community Health Network offers health insurance enrollment assistance if you need insurance.

We hope to see your child this Fall!
Skippy is generously sponsored by Pediatric Dental Specialists, El Pomar Foundation, Delta Dental, Colorado Dental Association, Town of Ridgway, Lone Cone Legacy Trust and Western Co Community Foundation, Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation, Jolley Smiles and San Miguel Power Association.
