Mr. Dan celebration information, request for photos & support the family

Posted Date: 5/01/25 (2:10 PM)

Telluride Staff & Community:

I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love regarding Dan Bergstrom Noel. He was an incredible husband, father, friend, teacher, colleague, and person; he will forever be in our hearts.

We have scheduled a Celebration of Life Sunday, May 18 at 3 pm at Oak Street Plaza next to the gondola. We want to celebrate him with a community gathering that will include a potluck that will be coordinated by Lara Young, 970-708-1105. Dan was not only one of the finest educators but also a great cook and musician.  He loved building community around a meal, song, or sweet treat. We have planned a menu of Mr. Dan's favorite foods and hope you can join us in creating the community feed following his celebration of life. Think of this as a Vermont barn raising where everyone can be involved in creating the meal to honor our most beloved father, husband, teacher, and friend. We will have tables lining the street in front of the Gondola on Oak Street overflowing with the food we all bring or prepare from the menu. (The town has graciously permitted closing the street.) We envision this as a joyful way to honor and celebrate the amazing man who has helped us raise and inspire our children. Please choose to prepare or bring a specific food on the google sign up sheet that fits your comfort with cooking, available time, and wallet. If you have a little more time to help then please sign up to be a food boss.. You can sign up to bring an item here:  Community Feed and Celebration for Mr. Dan

We would love as many photos of Dan as possible, please upload photos here: Dan Photos
