TSD is asking for help for a local family

Posted Date: 11/06/24 (10:38 AM)

TSD Staff and Community:

Yesterday, one of our Telluride High School seniors and her family tragically lost their home and belongings in a fire. They are currently facing the challenge of rebuilding from scratch, as they were renting a house in Norwood without renters or health insurance. As a school and community, we are rallying together to provide the support they need.

How You Can Help

We are collecting clothing donations in the following sizes:

  • Men’s Sizes:

    • Shirts: Medium

    • Pants: 30/31x29

    • Shoes: Size 7

  • Women’s Sizes:

    • Shirts: Medium and Small

    • Pants: Medium and Small (Size 0)

    • Shoes: Size 5 and 6

Donations of gently used clothing can be dropped off at Telluride High School or in Norwood at Sara López’s house: 1720 Pine Street.

We are also accepting monetary donations to assist with purchasing household essentials, clothing items not covered by donations, and costs related to securing a new rental home. Donations can be made in several ways:

  • Cash or check (made out to Veronica Calvo), dropped off at the Telluride High School front desk.

  • Venmo: @Sara-Kimble-2

  • Transfers to a Chase Bank account (details can be provided if that is your preferred method of contribution).

Funds raised will be carefully managed, with oversight to ensure they are used effectively to help the family get back on their feet.

Additionally, we are assisting the family in applying for the Good Neighbor Fund and other local resources to further support their recovery.

Thank you for your support. The kindness of the Telluride community has always been extraordinary, and it’s a big reason why I chose to call this place home. Thank you for standing by a long-time local family in their time of need.

For any questions or further information, please feel free to reach out.

Warm regards,

Sara Kimble
