NO EMERGENCY - TMHS and TIS Building evacuation

Good Evening TSD Community,

Due to a dishwasher chemical incorrectly off-gassing in the school cafeteria kitchen, we evacuated everyone from inside our building shortly after 5:30pm this evening.  This included players and fans from the THS Homecoming volleyball game as well as people in the Palm Theatre for the Mass Movement dance performance.  The Telluride Fire Department and Marshals responded, located the problem and mitigated the problem.  We then fully ventilated the building and allowed people to re-enter around 7:00pm per the Fire Department.  All events and performances are now back in progress.  We are grateful to our Fire Department and Marshals for their prompt and professional handling of the situation, and to everyone here who followed directions which helped keep everyone safe.  It is critical when fire alarms sound that everyone evacuate buildings, as we never know when lives could be in danger.
