AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination
About the Program:
AVID is a college readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills.
The AVID Student:
AVID students are typically students in the academic middle, capable of completing a college preparatory path with support. AVID students could also be advanced level students who struggle with organization and self-advocacy. These students often are not realizing their full potential academically.
